Welcome to the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship blog which has been created to support students in my Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship courses. These include MSci 454, Technical Entrepreneurship, offered by the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate which is offered by the Centre for Extended Learning at The University of Waterloo.

The courses are designed to help participants develop their technology oriented business ideas and provide them with the tools to turn these ideas into working businesses and to support technology based innovation and transformation in existing organisations. Innovation and entrepreneurship are important to every organisation, large or small, public, private or not for profit.

The courses draw on the Lean Startup approach, focusing on getting out there and talking to customers and stakeholders – but also are concerned to develop understanding of business establishment, growth and management processes that are necessary to create sustainable, successful enterprises and to improve innovation and transformation practices in existing organisations.

I hope that you will find this site useful – please do not hesitate to contact me on any matters related to technology innovation and entrepreneurship: pdcarr@uwaterloo.ca
